Lawn Fawnatics – Challenge 51

It’s been a while since I was able to participate in a Lawn Fawnatics challenge. Life was busy with other things I had or wanted to do and also other cards I wanted to make.

But, I’ve found some time again to do a challenge!
Challenge 51 is about a card sketch that fuels your inspiration to make a card. I love love love how you can do so many designs follow the lay-out. If I find the time, maybe I do another entry! I enjoyed it that much.

You can find the card sketch on the challenge page.

I started out with the idea to create a stripe by masking of the card and blend two Distress Oxide colors together. I choose two of my new colors, Worn Lipstick and Mowed Lawn, because the felt a little more out of my comfort zone.

But I accidentally blended beyond my masking tape so I decided to make the whole top part of the card in Worn Lipstick and the whole bottom part in Mowed Lawn. The masking tape would create white stripes and between where the masking tape was, was a blended version of the two.

From there, I choose a funky paper with fruit because it immediately popped into my head when I was working on the card. I added the sheep from ‘Hay There’ and some apples from ‘So Owlsome’ in the same art style as the fruit of on the paper.

And here it is… the end result!

It definitely is a whole other style as I usually do, but I love how it turned out. And that’s what the challenges do for me; let me step out of the box!
