Today I felt like casually stamping some backgrounds. I decided to use some stamps from the (Dutch) store ‘Action’ that I bought a while ago. I searched on www.coolors.co for a colour scheme I liked to use with my background.
Because I don’t own a large Copic collection (yet), I choose the colours that matched the most and went with that.
After that I thought… I can use ‘Easter Party’ from Lawn Fawn to make a card out of it for the Lawn Fawnatics challenge!
At the challenge page I saw an example with three flower girls, so I made a variation based on that. I think it turned out very cute!
As I mentioned earlier in my bucket list post, my interest in Lawn Fawn has grown a lot last year and with that my collection grew too.
When we where on honeymoon to New York we made a trip to Boston. On the way back to New York we stopped over at Papercraft Clubhouse to buy a lot of Lawn Fawn! Since sets are cheaper for meto buy in dollar then in euro, it saved me so much money.
Because my collection grew rapidly by buying so much new sets, the idea came to me to let Jordy choose 2 or 3 sets at random with which I had to make a card. You’ll get so much more creative with this. When we where home again, I thought of this challenge!
Lawn Fawn Random Sets Challenge!
Let somebody else choose 2-3 sets that not directly correspond together (like ‘Mermaid For You’ and ‘Fintastic Friends’ do.) Note: 2 sets works best, with possible the third giving you some supporting things (like a little critter) or when you’re up for an extra challenge.
You’re gonna craft a card with the sets. What kind you choose is up to you!
You have to use at least one ‘big’ stamp per set. With that, I mean that you can’t just use an exclamation point from a sentiment or so).
You can use other sets, but only if it is for small things!Think of wanting a cake in your cardif you’re making a birthday card, but the cake isn’t in your sets. Also, you may use background themed sets like ‘Let’s Bokeh’.
Optional: post your card on Instagram with the hashtag #lawnfawnrandomsetschallenge so other people and me can see the result of the challenge!
Here you can see how my first challenge attempt turned out.
This are the sets I used. The right sets are the sets Jordy choose for me; ‘Village Shops’,‘Costume Party’ and ‘Easter Party’ and on the left you can see the set (‘Party Animal’) which I needed for a small item.
The two ‘Costume’ sets are obviously matching with each other, but that’s the reason Jordy gave me 3 instead of 2. But you can’t really link them to the shops, except for ‘they have bought the clothes there’ kind of way.
My eye fell on the unicorn, the dragon/dinosaur and the bunny. I wanted to do something with that trio. But what was the story behind the card? Then, my eye fell on the ice cream truck. And then I decided I had to use ‘Party Animal’ as well.
Are you ready for the final result? Here it comes;
Isn’t it super cute?
Maybe the end result seem logical now you see the card, but I think I wouldn’t have come up with this combination on my own! So, the challenge did his thing! 🙂
By the way, Jordy already choose new sets for me to do the challenge again. This time, he choose some harder to combine sets for me… When it’s done, I’ll share the result!
Don’t forget that when you go crafting with the challenge yourself to share the end result in the comments or to post them on Instagram with the hashtag #lawnfawnrandomsetschallenge. You could also tag me in the post! (My username is @PetersTreasury)
I don’t have a very wide music taste. I mostly like pop and singer-songwriter. That doesn’t mean I don’t like anything outside of that, though. But my preference is mostly between those two categories.
At school I didn’t really had a favorite artist, like most of my peers did. For example, I liked Beyoncé, but outside of the top hits I didn’t know any other song.
When I started to listen to Lady Gaga 8/9 years ago, I finally found a favorite artist! Yay! I don’t equally like every song, but in general I like most of her songs (and they stick quite fast). I’m not an obsessed fan-boy. I like her, but at the same time I don’t know much about her. I also don’t like everything she does (I don’t like her grungy yelling party side she has at her concerts) but she managed to get a spot in my heart.
When I’ve visited a concert from Mother Monster (that’s Lady Gaga, if you don’t know anything about that) I always need a few days to get back on earth again. Thats because she inspires me. She stands for equality and she always tells you to keep on doing what you like, love and believe in. Because you will get somewhere if you do. Everyone has dreams and only few make them come true. I see an extra hurdle in my body having disabilities. But I always try to stay positive about that. And a Lady Gaga concert gives me an extra shot of positive vibes that I can certainly use.
We where meant to visit a concert again in October 2017, from the ‘Joanne World Tour’ but because she was sick (With this, you can see I’m not such a big fan because I can’t tell you what was going on (EDIT: Wikipedia tells me that it’s fibromyalgia)) and it was pushed to January 2018. Every Lady Gaga concert I’ve visited, we had seats, but this time those where sold out very very quick. So I had standing tickets. I didn’t look forward to that part, because of my disabilities, but afterwards it turned out to be doable as long as I didn’t do it every day. And boy-oh-boy, it was so cool being on the floor! Finally we got to see her from a few meters distant, when she was on one of the mini stages that was close by (Ok, once before, we saw her like three seconds on a very short distance because her tourbus drove right by and she pulled up the blinds of the bus, but that doesn’t really count.) And by coincidence, she played her song ‘Joanne’ up there, a song that really touches my heart every time I listen to it. That really was something special. <3
Apparently she canceled the rest of the tour (again because of fibromyalgia) so well wishes to Mother Monster and hopefully she can do a tour again in the future so I can get another shot of positivity (and I’m getting standing places!)
Today, on the first day of the new year, it is time to make my bucketlist for 2018. Well, can I call it a bucket list? It aren’t necessarily things for on a common bucket list like bungee jumping. But it’s more of a list of things I did too little in 2017. But fine, let’s call it a bucket list. Here it is, in a random order:
BUCKET LIST 2018
Read 12 or more books I like to read, but I don’t always find the time to do so. Last year was a ‘bad’ year reading wise, hopefully it wil get better this year! (check my Goodreads profile to see how far I am!)
Making illustrated bucket lists per season For years I have the drawing of my summer bucket list ready to go, but it still needs coloring. Go big or go home; let’s do all the seasons this year!
Play more The Sims I love playing The Sims, but I don’t play it often. Not always my own fault. Because of the muscle and joint problems I just can’t always play. But I want to put it on my list anyway.
Exercise, eating balanced and feel more comfortable in my own skin A few years back I started with this. With our wedding in November last year I put in some extra effort. With result, because I felt good at my wedding! But 2018 will be the year I will feel more and more comfortable in my own skin.
More miniature furniture making Last year I started making miniature furniture (1:12, for the people who care) but because of the wedding prep I didn’t have much time for it.
Crafting more cards It’s so relaxing to make cards! I’m sure things will show up on the blog about making cards. I used to make cards before, but because of Rosana I discovered Lawn Fawn in 2017 (she owned stamp sets before, but I didn’t figure out yet you can make cards with it) and the quality of my cards got better with 300%.
Peter’s Treasury Also important; spending some more time with my blog and YouTube channel. Of course within the boundaries of my muscles and joints.
Of course there are more things I want to do more or maybe even less. But these things I wanted to write down as a short list. I can look it up through the year and see what I found was important at the begin of the year!
Daily I’m creating things. In various ways. Being creative with different materials and techniques, preparing a dish, baking cakes and bread, graphic design or being in a world of fiction by playing a game or reading a book.
Everything I do and create is part of my Treasury. For a while I was looking for a way to share my ‘treasures’ with others. To share experiences. To receive feedback.
My intention is that I regularly update my blog with new content. Unfortunately I got physical problems with my muscles / joints which prevent me of creating things or typing a blogpost. (This blog post has already been in concept since 2015…) But I will do my best and I hope you find it interesting enough to check my blog time to time to check if there is something new.
