Crafts – Lawn Fawn Tiny Gift Box Valentine bookmarks

Hi everyone! I’m so happy to be a guest designer for the Lawn Fawnatics challenge #117 – Lots of heart. The challenge is to make a card based on an inspiration board:

I got inspired by the brightly colored pencils, so I wanted to involve that for sure. When I saw the crayon drawing my mind went to books (because of the paper? I don’t know how brains work sometimes) so I decided to make some bookmarks!

The new mini slimline sets from Lawn Fawn are the perfect size for a bookmark! I combined it with the new addition to the ‘Tiny Gift Box’ family, the skunk. I used it to create a few different animals so I could make several different bookmarks with the same design. So fun!

If you want to check out more inspiration for the challenge, be sure to visit the Lawn Fawnatics website or the Lawn Fawn blog. And of course go and make a card yourself to participate and have a chance on winning a cool price!

I made a video about how I made the bookmarks so make sure to check that out on my YouTube channel. Like always, if you have any questions, ask away! I’m happy to help.

Below is an overview of most of the supplies I used. If you have any questions about that, feel free to ask me about it.

Lawn Fawnatics – Challenge 39

Yes, I’m guilty of owning quite some very funky, shiny, bling-bling papers. I’m also quilty of never using them. Ever. Because I don’t know how I could make them work. Why did I buy them then, you say? I really don’t know.

BUT…! Then the new Lawn Fawnatics challenge came to the rescue! It’s called ‘Bling it out’ and it challenges you to make a shiny/glittery/blingy card. So I dug into my funky paper stash and found a purple one which I thought was perfect for a halloween card (also because I recently got my first coordinating die cuts including Costume Party)

It’s a bit of a smaller card compared to the usually size I make them, but it worked out great. I’m also very impressed how good the funky blingy paper works for the background! <3
I also used some sequins in the background for extra bling and added some shiny pearl paint (which wouldn’t stay drop shaped, but they’re still some kind of nice I think)

This challenge sure inspired me to look into the possibilities with my funky stash of paper!

Lawn Fawnatics – Challenge 38

And it’s time for another Lawn Fawnatics challenge! I keep enjoying them so much, because they always push you in a direction with the theme while you still can be as creative as you want to be.

I seem to have hit a crafting wall, but the challenge keep on going well. I’m sure I’ll come back in my craft flow though!

The challenge this time is ‘Awesome autumn’, so cards with the theme autumn, Halloween and Thanksgiving. And that’s exactly the vibe I’m currently in.

I’ve recently bought the ‘So Owlsome’ set, together with the owl from ‘Jump for Joy’ that I own already for a while now, it seemed perfect for an autumn card.

Also, apples are an autumn thing and since there is one in the Owlsome set, I wanted to attempt something with that… With some creative masking with the planter from ‘Some Bunny’ I’ve made this sweet card;

As you can see with a matching envelope! I always try to make a matching one with my cards, because I love how fun it is to match them. Also, when you would be the receiver of the card… how fun would it be just seeing the envelope?!

Lawn Fawnatics – Challenge 37 – Something old, something new

Lawn Fawn exists since 2010 and a lot of sets came out since then! The style of it slowly evolved. Here are 3 sets, old, less old and new;

You can see the style has changed, but things can work out together just fine. And that’s exactly what the new challenge is all about; combine a old set with a new set!

I’ve combined ‘Gnome Sweet Gnome’ together with ‘Jump for Joy’. And it works out perfectly for me! <3

Lawn Fawnatics – Challenge 36

Due to lack of time with the previous challenge, I needed to skip that one. It just didn’t happen to make a card for it. To bad… but with the new challenge I’m back at it again!
Based on a mood board they posted, you had to make a card. This is the mood board;

I didn’t thought to much about this card. I just picked out some colors of paper and started crafting. I’m 100% happy with how the card turned out! Here it is!

I’m so happy the trees perfectly match with how autumn colors are in my head (and how they where on the mood board!) and the rest of the colors make me think of a wonderful autumn day!

Extra thanks to my good friend Rosana who gifted me ‘Happy Trails’ recently. <3
She also participates in the challenges so be sure to check our her blog!
